w2d3 – trying something new

hoping to earn points with fatman after his whining, I’ll write this post in english and see how it turns out.

I’ll try to make justice to a quite nice story I was told the other day about how WADA agents behave like 007 to get samples from athletes. as it were, samples from belarusian athletes needed collecting and analysing. unfortunately for the assigned WADA agent, the belarusian government would only grant a visa on condition that the agent would not find doping positive samples among their athletes.

WADA would not roll with this, however. the agent got smuggled into the country in the trunk of a car, probably cursing the worthlessness of eastern bloc cars the whole time. the athletes got an unpleasant surprise when they had to leave their much sought-after bodily fluids without a guarantee to avoid a doping conviction.

now, the agent just had to leave the country. apparently without any fucks left to give, the agent drove herself/himself to the border crossing, got waved over for document control and chose to tell the truth to the soldiers guarding the border. their commander, apparently a person with some appreciation of an assignment well done, said ”if you got into the country without a visa, it seems fair that you should leave without one”.

WADA – potential cheaters: 1 – 0

I aimed for 10 reps in the last set, but today it just wasn’t there for me. still, I did more than the program called for. gathering strength for next week, instead.

assistance lifts

that last set sure was heavy. I felt like an athlete, initially just pounding out the called-for reps. then, reality struck me. still managed to do what I had set out to do.

used the liquid chalk today as well. I really appreciate the improved grip (and not getting cramps in the forearms).

      Yes, that story is one of Arne’s. I’ll follow it up with more, and then I probably have to take a new name for leaking secrets.

        Much better, and that’s a great story. The next step will be to ask Arne to write an article for your blog about the perils of gucing. In English.

        And Google Translate actually translated the name of the liquid chalk as ”floating voice”, not sure what it’s supposed to be originally.

      nah, still in sweden. visiting the US for something work related would be nice, though. I have thought about putting in enough work to qualify for a project at Mayo Clinic. we’ll see if I find the energy for that.

      the sports science is just a short course that I chose due to personal interest. this year, we got to choose to study something that interests us, since the autumn and spring has been quite hectic (at least for me).
